Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (PRWEB) October 06, 2011

October has been a big month for HomeSav.com, the members-only flash sale site dedicated to brand name home décor and furniture. As of last week, the Canadian-made platform closed $ 1.2 million in seed financing, and at the beginning of next week, they’ll be introducing a new series of sale events involving various celebrities and experts.

Coined “Inspired Picks” the sale series aims to highlight home related products as chosen by the famous faces of the world. Unlike regular HomeSav collections, which consist of 25-50 products, these sales will feature just 3 products at a time and will be selected by celebrity curators. “We want to give our members a window into the homes and closets of our favourite famous personalities,” explains Alex Norman, co-founder and co-CEO of HomeSav.com. “It’s a unique and fun way for our members to make home-related purchases.”

The first Inspired Pick sale will launch on October 10th, and features a small selection as curated by design extraordinaire Lisa Canning. Canning is based out of Toronto, Canada and has a penchant for chic, contemporary, personalized interiors. She runs the design team on HGTV’s For Rent, is an interior expert on The Marilyn Denis Show, and is the Market Editor for Kimberley Seldon’s Dabble Magazine.

“The response has been phenomenal” says HomeSav’s Amanda Chajes, program director for Inspired Picks. “It’s a fun way for our members to mix and mingle with tastemakers, and to buy what is inspiring to them.” What’s more for the program says Chajes, HomeSav shares profits with Inspired Picks participants, making the partnership mutually beneficial.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 12, 2012

Floor and Decor has been expanding their Phoenix tile stores in the last few years. One of the newest expansions includes their new Design Center, located inside the Arizona Flooring Superstore. This means customers will have even more flooring selections to choose from with more room to browse and shop.

The largest and most expansive selection of Phoenix floors can be found in the 75,000 square foot superstore that is Floor and Decor . With that much space, homeowners can expect to find the most choices in tile in Phoenix and granite in Phoenix that is available on the market. This includes Glendale residents who are nearby the large flooring superstore.

Along with the largest stock selection of decorative stone, accessories, and hardwood flooring in the state, Floor and Decor offers more to its customers. Every Saturday, the store holds free how-to classes on laminate, tile and stone flooring. In addition to offering installation services, the company also provides self-installation classes so that customers do not have to rely on someone else. Floor and Decor has also begun offering free design classes every day of the week to complement their how-to classes and to help make customers savvier shoppers.

At any of the Floor and Decor stores in the state of Arizona, residents can expect the guaranteed best prices on Phoenix tile and any other Phoenix flooring options. The new Design Center inside the Arizona’s Flooring Superstore allows customers to shop where the pros go and peruse the hundreds of displays available throughout the store.

Vayu Media is assisting Floor and Decor to raise their web presence in the Phoenix market. Please visit the seo services page to learn about the most effective social, seo, and mobile strategies in the market.

About Floor and Decor:

What is Floor & Decor about? Unmatched selection. Unheard of prices. Unrivaled service. Floor & Decor provides more choices than the big-box, retail mega-stores. And we offer it for less than what you would find at a designer showroom. It’s the perfect choice for all of your hard flooring needs.

Officially launched in 2001 with a single outlet in Atlanta, the company has grown to more than 24 retail locations across the nation. Since its inception, Floor & Decor has literally created a new market within the home improvement category. In the process, we’ve improved the way our customers buy hard flooring products for the home.

It’s a more convenient shopping experience. A more inspiring shopping experience. And a more rewarding shopping experience. That’s the goal of each of our locations. And it will be the goal of our future locations as well. So come by a Floor & Decor near you today, and experience the difference for yourself.

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) June 26, 2008

Wallpapers To Go, the nation’s largest chain of specialty wallpaper stores, announces a new generation of wallpaper that is changing the way the paper – named for the only application it was expected to have – is regarded in the decorating world.

Excited about the evolutionary new design element it has become for some of the most renowned designers, Wallpapers To Go representatives utilize publicity the designers generate in communicating the comeback to customers.

According to company executives, decorating guru Nate Berkus suggests that today “it’s not your grandmother’s wallpaper” – referring to the sophisticated patterns, metallic colors, contemporary designs, Old World craftsmanship and fabrics of today’s ready to go anywhere wallpaper.

And hearing it from highly regarded designers like Berkus has greater impact than any local advertising they could do.

They also point to features on popular morning programs such as the Today Show to further boast the rebirth of wallpaper – stating that Chassie Post, style editor of Domino magazine, suggests exploring the bold new patterns and applying it unconventionally to dramatically change the look and feel of a room.

“Today decorators are using wallpaper as framed art, decals over painted walls, closet lining, pattern designs, murals and much more. This impacts our customers and helps them see today’s wallpaper designs in a whole new way,” stated Wallpapers To Go CEO Harold Otto.

“While wallpaper of today is more durable than paint and features innovative designs and vibrant colors, watching known designers use it in innovative new ways has been a huge draw and really re-energizes sales,” added Otto.

Otto further explained that returning customers are often surprised that the sophisticated new wallpaper is frequently less expensive than most of the faux finishes and designer paints – and many even easier to work with.

Wallpapers To Go is a national retailer of wallpaper, borders and home decorating accessories. Their stores feature the largest selection of the world’s best border, wallpaper and mural designs from leading manufacturers and distributors in stock as well as special order. In addition to wallpaper, Wallpapers To Go carries an extensive selection of window coverings, framed art, coordinating fabrics and home accessories.

Wallpapers To Go has an online store that offers a thorough How To guide, wallpaper calculator, color guide with over 260,000 colors to choose from and hundreds of wallpaper books through which customers can browse.

Beachwood, OH (PRWEB) February 14, 2012

Video Matrix Switch products are pivotal to administrators across a wide range of industries. Video Matrix Switches are available in tiered forms of functionality. Basic units can be controlled locally, or through the use of an IR remote control. Mid-level devices are often capable of being controlled through software using a RS232 port. The top tier of Video Matrix Switches would be devices that combine all of these methods plus the addition of brand new control over TCP/IP. Many administrators over the years had to compromise when making a purchasing decision as budget constraints have not allowed them to purchase the remote IP controlled devices they would prefer. KVMSwitchTech has now added the TCP/IP module that provides users with a method to maximize the functionality of their existing devices without necessitating a complete hardware overhaul.

Administrators who are ready to make an investment in new technology will also be interested in KVMSwitchTech’s new 64×64 Cat5 Video Matrix Switch. This amazingly scalable device is capable of supporting VGA, Composite, and Component video devices though the use of 16-port interface cards. These cards allow the switch to range in size from a 16×16 to 64×64 Video Matrix Switch. It can be controlled through any of the standard options including IR remote, push buttons, RS232, and TCP/IP computer control.

The new Serial RS232 to Ethernet Converter has a wide range of benefits beyond the application for Video Matrix Switches. This converter can also be used to make any RS232 serial device a network capable device. This unit has the capacity to also make older devices like security cameras move to the internet age. KVMSwitchTech’s full line of Video Matrix Switches is not limited to the options listed here. Their products also include HDMI Matrix Switch and DVI Matrix Switch devices capable of High Definition imaging resolutions. Certain HDMI Matrix Switches also include 3D support and IR pass-through technology.

Raleigh, North Carolina (PRWEB) April 19, 2006

Clever Parents (http://www.cleverparents.com) the website for smart, successful parents has officially launched. Clever Parents is different from other parenting media in that it focuses on parents, not just parenting.

Clever Parents taps into an expanding community of smart, successful parents who provide regular columns, ideas and product advice about a variety of lifestyle topics. The site also highlights Clever Parent entrepreneurs and ‘parentrepreneurs’ with feature interviews.

The site is for parents who make the most of every day and every dollar and who do it in a way that is clever. By parents, Clever Parents means moms and dads. No gender has a monopoly on good parenting.

“When you become a parent, your life changes, but it doesn’t end. Your priorities change and the variables increase, so you have to be clever to get it all done. We wanted a site that not only focused on parenting, but on parents and their interests beyond parenting. And by parents, we mean moms and dads. Too often parenting related media is only mom oriented,” said co-founder Kris Jackson.

The site is broken into sections covering topics of interest to parents—and comes from parent columnists and submissions from site visitors. “I think the positive feedback we receive about the site’s content comes from the diversity of our contributors,” said Kris. “For example, we have a dad columnist who is a dedicated foodie and a mom columnist and boutique owner who writes about style. Plus we have two wonderful contributors who have compiled kitchen and ‘Clutter Busting’ checklists for parents to download. We track what’s popular and pay attention to feedback. Our job is to be caretakers for the community.”

In addition to content from parents, another unique feature of Clever Parents is the spotlight on parentrepreneurs. “There are millions of businesses run by parents in America,” said co-founder David Jackson. “We’re seeing a lot of businesses pop-up as second sources of income now that one of the parents is staying home. Some of the businesses are home-based; some are run full-time, others part-time. I think we are tapping into a trend.”

“The interest we receive from ‘parentrepreneurs’ has been overwhelming and we hope that featuring them helps their businesses and that their successes and struggles will inspire other parents. As a parent, you are constantly juggling multiple demands-children, work, family, hobbies; these spotlights personalize how others are getting it done. The spotlights combined the community-generated content from other moms and dads are proving to be very popular. ”

About Clever Parents:

Clever Parents is the website for smart, successful parents. The Clever Parents site is for all parents—Moms and Dads—who are figuring out ways to get the most out of every day and every dollar and who do it in a way that’s healthy, fun, and… clever. Clever Parents enlists a community of Clever Parents for advice, content, products and interviews that inform and inspire. Stylish, instructive, useful, inspirational, and sometimes irreverent, Clever Parents isn’t another parenting site – it is a site for parents.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 10, 2012

The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure has passed The American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act, the House version of a massive multi-year transportation bill.

The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) has been working closely with the Committee to include provisions in the bill that will take advantage of pavers’ unique drainage properties to benefit highway and mass transit construction.

Most Americans think of interlocking concrete pavers – ICP – for revitalization of downtown business district sidewalks and roads, as well as residential applications such as driveways, patios and walkways. A permeable version of this pavement incorporates pavers with spacers and drainage stones between the joints thereby rendering a permeable surface when placed over a crushed stone base designed to store runoff and allow infiltration into the underlying soils. This new version—called permeable interlocking concrete pavement or PICP—is a remarkably versatile system suited for municipal roads, parking lots and plazas. Transportation applications of PICP create environmentally friendly surfaces for elegant and functional green pavements that minimize environmental impacts, reduce stormwater runoff, and eliminate standing water/flooding problems.

The provisions will authorize the U.S. Secretary of Transportation to pursue broad research and technology transfer activities to promote the adoption of permeable pavements for transportation applications throughout the U.S.

The ICPI backed provisions are the first of their kind to include permeable pavements in federal transportation policy. They are drafted as legitimate “bill” language, which has force of law, rather than “report” language, which has no force of law. Several of the key terms in the permeable pavement provisions, such as “stormwater” and “permeable,” appear only in the ICPI backed provisions and would not be in the bill otherwise.

With growing recognition and support in federal policy, PICP is growing in importance as a key paving component in the plans of construction designers.

“Permeable interlocking concrete pavement systems (PICP) can help state and local governments, and state highway officials, meet their growing requirements to use pavements that minimize stormwater runoff pollution in the U.S. transportation system,” said Roberto Nicolia, ICPI Chairman of the Board. “Going forward, state and local transportation officials will need to design and build environmentally friendly components into their projects. Pavers will be an important means to achieve those ends.”

The ICPI action in federal transportation policy dovetails with similar cooperative work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

“Concrete pavers are perfect for federal government policy. “Green” construction, greenscapes, reducing stormwater runoff and flooding, improving water quality and reducing water pollution – these are all top priorities for every builder in the country,” said Charles McGrath, ICPI’s Executive Director.

The Environmental Protection Agency has listed installation of PICP as a Best Management Practice for reducing stormwater runoff. EPA and ICPI are working cooperatively to provide municipalities with access to technical data that helps them adopt permeable interlocking concrete pavement systems more easily.

ICPI’s recent efforts on Capitol Hill have been designed to extend these benefits to U.S. DOT, using the only major non-appropriations bill likely to become law prior to the November elections.

“We want Members of Congress to understand that the permeable pavements provisions in the House bill can provide ‘green’ road construction, mitigate storm water runoff, and jobs, in nearly every congressional district in the country,” said Randall Pence, ICPI’s lobbyist on Capitol Hill. “ICPI urges quick House passage of the American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act and continued support for the permeable pavements provisions in both the House and Senate.”

About ICPI

The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) represents producers, suppliers, contractors, design professionals and consultants and supports its members in assuring segmental pavement systems are the preferred choice for sustainable and environmentally friendly pavements in North America. ICPI aims to increase the application of segmental concrete pavement systems in North American commercial, institutional, governmental, industrial and residential markets through the development of marketing and technical resources for design professionals, contractors and homeowners.

Salt Lake City, Utah (Vocus/PRWEB) December 28, 2010

The goal of improved health is the most common of all New Year’s resolutions. With 2011 fast approaching, millions of people are vowing to improve their health but secretly worrying about how they will do it.

Scientific studies by the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute, located at Washington State University, and others are showing remarkable health benefits associated with warm water hydrotherapy in hot tubs. Bullfrog International LC, manufacturers of innovative hot tubs with the patented JetPak System of spa jets, has released a list of 5 ways hot tub therapy can help individuals improve their health this year.*

1. Hot tubs can lower blood pressure. In studies performed by the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute subjects experienced decreased blood pressure when immersed in water of all temperatures. However, the effect of lowered blood pressure was shown to last much longer for those who soaked in a hot tub.

2. Hot tubs improve heart and circulatory health. Water immersion helps the circulatory system to operate more efficiently. This effect can be beneficial to all people and is especially helpful to individuals who experience decreased circulation due to diabetes and other ailments.**

3. Hot tubs improve joint health. Spending time in a hot tub can decrease pain and help improve flexibility by decreasing the effects of gravity, increasing blood flow, and by lessening the pull of tight muscles on sore joints.

4. Hot tubs improve muscle health. Soaking in a hot tub loosens stiff muscles and reduces soreness. The increased blood flow to the muscles, experienced while in a hot tub, also aids in healing after injuries and recovery after intense workouts.

5. Hot tubs improve nervous system health. One of the reasons hot tubs feel so relaxing is because they actually balance the opposing functions within the nervous system – the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. Hot water therapy reduces the effect of the sympathetic nervous system, which is the major cause of harmful stress. The positive effects of hot water therapy on the nervous system have actually been observed long after the individual actually leaves the water, showing that hot tubs help produce long term benefits that include lowered stress, relaxation, and a sense of well being.

Additional hot tub health benefits continue to come to light as physicians and scientists, especially in the area of Sports Medicine, perform studies on hot tub therapy. Individuals interested in the health applications of hydrotherapy can keep up to date by following the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute (NASMI) along with hot tub health updates posted by Bullfrog Spas on their hot tub blog.

The science seems to show that a hot tub is likely to be one of the best investments that an individual can make in achieving their goals of health, wellness, and overall happiness for 2011.

To learn more about hot tub hydrotherapy and the health and wellness benefits a hot tub can provide contact Bullfrog Spas today.

*Information regarding health benefits of hot tubs is collected from studies performed, cited, and reported on by the National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute.

**Always consult a physician before using a hot tub, especially if you have any of the following: high blood pressure, a heart or lung condition, are or may be pregnant, have diabetes or if you experience any other serious health condition.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) October 25, 2005

http://www.Rockler.com — Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, one of the nation’s premier suppliers of specialty hardware, tools and other high-quality woodworking products, shares the findings of a recent marketing research study, revealing that more women would rather engage in a woodworking or home improvement project than ever before.

Put away the credit card and pick up the circular saw. That’s right. A recent study suggests that more women would rather do a home improvement project than go shopping. And when it comes to home improvement, a growing number of women are tackling woodworking by building custom cabinets, book shelves and tables. Recent marketing research by Rockler Woodworking and Hardware reveals that one of the fastest growing trends in home improvement is women working with wood.

“There are close to four million American women woodworkers today,” said LiLi Rockler Jackson, Rockler Companies spokesperson, a talented young woodworker who is also the granddaughter of the company’s founder, Norton Rockler. “It’s a trend that is quickly rising as more and more single women become homeowners. Our own research shows that the majority of women who started woodworking in the past three years say they want to create something with their own hands for their own home. Women are drawn to working with wood because it’s a creative outlet that provides a gratifying sense of accomplishment.”

“I’m making something original I can’t buy anywhere else,” explained one respondent. “I woodwork to create items designed to fit my needs and personal style,” said another woman. “I challenge myself by creating a functional design and then being smart enough and skilled enough to build it,” said yet another woman.

According to well known do-it-yourselfer and cable television host JoAnne Liebeler, the sense of accomplishment experienced by women woodworkers is much of what’s fueling this phenomenon. “Women are realizing they can use power tools and build something amazing,” she said. “They see me handling a circular saw, and they think, ‘hey, if she can do it, I can do it, too.’ The fear factor has been replaced with a sense of empowerment.”

Rockler Companies’ marketing research suggests that, nearly one third undertake the pastime to create furniture. And while most women woodworkers create a wide variety of items, of those interviewed:

21 percent create craft items such as picture frames;

19 percent build storage items such as custom cabinets or shelving;

17 percent complete home improvement projects such as adding custom crown molding to a room; and

9 percent make children’s items such as dollhouses and wooden toys.

While a growing number of women are just starting out as woodworkers, Rockler Companies’ research suggests woodworking is a lifestyle, not just a hobby. In fact, more than 33 percent of those interviewed have been woodworking for more than five years. Research participants also indicated that, while nearly 24 percent of women who participated in the research said they first started woodworking as a way to improve their homes, yet found that they greatly enjoyed working with wood and power tools.

38 percent do woodworking at least once a week;

58 percent do woodworking at home in rooms or shops dedicated to woodworking; and

71 percent own their own tools, and the majority—42 percent—have spent more than $ 1,000 to date.

“Woodworking is an especially fun hobby because it results in a functional item,” said Rockler Jackson. “And we’re creating a legacy by building something that can be handed down through the generations.”

Rockler Companies first noticed a growing trend of women participating in woodworking nearly four years ago when it launched womeninwoodworking.com. Since then, female visitors to the web site have jumped 27 percent. “Our retail sales also showed the growth of the female market. Women were coming to our stores asking for advice on how to build cabinets or tables,” said Ann Rockler Jackson, the company’s CEO. “We realized that women woodworkers approach the craft differently than men. Women sometimes hesitate to ask how or why in a mixed group or in a workshop, but jump right in asking questions when talking with other women woodworkers. For many they want to test the waters first before jumping in with both feet. We launched womeninwoodworking.com in direct response to what women woodworkers wanted. It’s fascinating to see its growth.”

The increase in women woodworkers visiting Rockler’s stores and website corresponds to a national phenomenon. According to the National Association of Realtors, single women are the fastest growing group of home buyers and make up the second largest group of homebuyers after couples. According to the Association, the number of single female homeowners has doubled in the past 15 years.

“Combine that statistic with the fact that sales of home improvement products continue to rise in record numbers and this is a significant trend,” said the younger Rockler Jackson. “We believe this trend has been pushed by the popularity of do-it-yourself programs. Women are seeing other women using power tools to make attractive and functional new home furnishings. Suddenly, the intimidation factor that held many women back disappears. In fact, nearly 47 percent of those interviewed stated that they most often work with portable power tools, like sanders, routers, drill drivers, and jig saws. Thanks to do-it-yourself programs, ‘no way’ has been replaced with a ‘can do’ attitude that has helped to drive this trend.”

Follow us on LinkedIn – Technology developments have transformed the global satellite industry over the years from what was earlier confined to serve just the defense and communication applications, to now being capable of even taking entertainment direct to home in the form of digital broadcasting. Satellite technology has become a critical part of our everyday life, enabling communications, entertainment, navigation, and weather forecasting, among others. Having braved several challenges over the years, including the dotcom bust early this millennium, the general trend towards fiber connectivity, the impact of 2007-2009 economic recession, the industry now stands poised to register growth, primarily riding on the ever changing needs in telecommunications, one of its primarily end-use sector and growing consumer demand for satellite-based broadcasting and entertainment services. The industry will be bolstered by growing demand for satellite services against the backdrop of growing need for longer satellite life, increasing number of transponders per satellite, and data compression.

Accounting for a majority share in total revenue, satellite services market is the primary growth driver in the global satellite industry. Strong growth in the number of subscribers to Direct-To-Home/Direct Broadcast Satellite (DTH/DBS) services, as a result of tremendous increase in television viewership in developing markets such as India and China and introduction of advanced services such as HDTV and 3D-TV are fuelling demand for satellite TV services. Growth in consumer broadband satellite on the other hand is being boosted by continued rural broadband rollouts across the globe and growing demand for internet services in Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) businesses. Accounting for two thirds of the overall number of spacecrafts launched, the Government sector will continue to remain one of the most prominent demand drivers for satellites. Realizing the importance of satellite systems in providing geo-information and communication solutions to its agencies, and thereby helping develop infrastructure and contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development, governments across the globe will continue to invest in satellite technologies, thus promising to infuse vigor into the market in the upcoming years.
